Corona virus / Rupani government’s big decision on APL-1 card holders, will get free grains / Gujarat to provide free ration to 60 lakh APL families
Gujarat government has decided to give BPL and Antyodaya card holders free food for three months so that poor families do not suffer during the lockdown. Now, APL card holders have demanded to get food grains too. An important decision has been taken by the state government on the APL-1 card.
The government has created an action plan on Corona. Another important decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel. Chief Minister’s Secretary Ashwini Kumar had a press conference on this. In which, he said that 8 lakhs were distributed to the Antyodaya family. No family in the state will have food shortages. 3 lakh 40 thousand BPL families have been supplied. Now the food supply will be provided to 60 lakh families. Apart from BPL, Anna Brahma Yojana, now consumers of APL-1 will also get free grain. However, its delivery dates will now be announced.
It has also decided to provide free grain to the remaining 60 lakh APL-1 consumers who are not covered under the NSFA (National Food Safety Act). For the month of April, customers of APL-1 will be given 10 kg wheat, 3 kg rice, 1 kg pulses, 1 kg sugar free of cost. The government’s decision has been announced by Chief Minister’s Secretary Ashwini Kumar.
